Boundary Work and Improvements

Boundary Work and Improvements

Wildscapes CIC deliver boundary and access improvements in a number of environments, specialising in sensitive locations such as nature reserves, national parks, AONB and SSSI’s.

Working in partnership with our clients, boundary improvements are designed to meet their objectives whilst remaining considerate to habitats and conservation.

Our skilled team, working together with specialist installation equipment, offer a range of boundary services including;

  • Post and wire fencing
  • Post and rail fencing
  • Wildlife exclusion fencing
  • Vehicle barriers
  • Access points and entrance gates
  • Hedgerow laying
  • Dry stone walling

Boundary work is often carried out alongside other habitat creation projects including pond creation and tree planting.  Our expertise in an array of land management disciplines means that we can manage projects from conception and sourcing of materials, through to logistical support, physical installation and aftercare.  Any initial vegetation removal or scrub clearance required in advance of the project can also be incorporated within our scope of work.

Our materials are sustainably sourced, with all of our timber for our fencing being of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standard.

Case Study

Wildscapes CIC were contracted to install a 1.5km anti-predator and stock control fence at the Broomhill Flash Nature Reserve in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The site is a wetland area being managed by the Garganey Trust as a habitat for ground nesting and breeding birds. Due to its proximity to grazing pasture land and unmanaged wild areas, the fencing needed to be suitable for protection against encroaching livestock. We also had to ensure it was sufficiently recessed below ground to prevent being burrowed under by predatory species including foxes and badgers.
